2020.04.25 OODAALOLLY CHOCOLATE COMPANY RELEASES FREE KIDS ACTIVITY BOOK FOR DOWNLOAD
Using consumer insights gleaned from recent data released by research firm Klaviyo in concert with discussions with our customers and local community organizations including Balay Kreative, Oodaalolly chocolate released a children’s activity book to help ease the strain children and parents are experiencing during the current stay at home orders put in place because of the COVID-19 epidemic.
“Oodaalolly is a CPG start-up, and we saw an opportunity between consumable food goods and toys and creativity. Things flipped, but that didn't mean we were going to abandon our customers. We flipped with them.”
We analyzed the "New Essentials" consumers were interested in to help adjust to stay-at-home life and came up with one that would fill these new needs.
We created an Oodaalolly kids' activity book - an educational resource that includes engaging activities for younger children - Pre-K to First Grade. Furthermore, Oodaalolly is a proudly Filipino-American company. So, this book is in English & Tagalog- solidifying ties to our Filipino roots. We consulted with a medical doctor who also helped with our translation work.
“It’s a small thing,” says founder Hernan Lauber, “but small things are how big things happen.”
The primary goal of this project is the same goal Oodaalolly tries to achieve every day: to make people smile. Learning about chocolate and where it comes from can be a fun and rewarding activity. In times of uncertainty, education is the best medicine.

Chocolate maker Hernan Lauber founded Oodaalolly Chocolate in 2017 in San Francisco, California. As a Filipino-American and adopted son of a Swiss chocolate maker with a long family history in the field, Hernan decided to follow in his father’s footsteps by blazing a new path blending the best of the two cultures of his upbringing.
Oodaalolly focuses exclusively on sourcing ingredients from the Philippines. We source directly from small cacao co-ops in the southern Davao region. Using these hand-selected beans, we create a unique and delicious Philippine chocolate with Swiss technique smoothness that is both innovative and sustainable.
